What will you do?
As a member of the Research department and the Breeding team, you will give support to the Pepper breeding programs in the creation and development of new hybrids for specific market segments.
Your responsibilities and missions will be:
Breeding activities:
- Plan, organize and supervise crossing blocks from pollination to harvest
- Evaluate trials and assist the breeder in the selection process
- Coordinate breeding activities and collaborate with others pepper assistants based in different territories
- Upload, record and manage data for breeding programs in internal software
Seed process / on- and off-station
- Provide support to the local teams in managing tasks such as seed picking and sowing, transplanting, plant maintenance, pollination, harvesting, seed extraction, seed disinfection, seed drying, packaging and inventory update in the breeding database.
- Give support in seeds sampling for laboratory activities support (market assisted selection pathology) or external breeding program
- Organize, prepare and record seed shipments


Where will you work?
You will be based in Uchaud (Gard (30), France) and you will report to the local Pepper Breeder.
In this position you will collaborate with local teams like pathology and biotechnologies laboratories teams for projects, as well as marketing, trials, and product development teams across EMEA.
Regular business trips abroad (like Morocco, Spain, Türkiye etc.) will be required.
Do you fit this profile ?
- You have a master’s degree in agriculture (Plant Breeding, Genetics, or closely related field) and at least 2 years’ working knowledge and experience (incl. internship) in plant breeding programs, including procedures and plant genetics.
- You can manage the physical demands, and you are able to work in field and greenhouse conditions exposed to heat and cold conditions
- You need to demonstrate persistence and patience to thrive in an environment characterized by long breeding cycles
- You are positive, motivated and operate efficiently under stressful conditions and with consideration of deadlines.
- You are pro-active, accurate and you pay attention to detail.
- You are a team player who is also able to work independently with minimal supervision
- You are fluent in French and English (reading, writing and speaking), other languages skills are an advantages
- You are proficient MS-Office
