At SAKATA EMEA, we ensure that we gather, store and handle data fairly, transparently and with respect towards individual rights. More precisely, the respect of data privacy of all our internal and external stakeholders (including our customers, suppliers, employees and partners) is a key driver of our internal policies. Sakata therefore commits to international standards of good practice in collecting, storing and processing individual personal data.
Sakata EMEA & Personal Data In General: SAKATA EMEA has adopted a pure B2B business model within the European Union since its creation in 1996 and is therefore not doing any direct business with individuals as such. As a rule, Sakata does not do any specific direct marketing campaigns. Those specific marketing campaigns and all our events are exclusively managed on external tools such as Mailchimp or direct social media channels where customers and prospects directly subscribe (opt in / consent automatically managed online by the tool supplier).
As we are not dealing with the consumer market in the EU, we do not track or exchange any personal data relating to any end consumer.

What Personal Data Do We Collect for Customers, Suppliers, Growers & Partners ? Please find below a comprehensive list of all personal data that we may collect and use about individuals from your organisation: Full Name, gender, address, email, phone number, social media address, date of birth, birth location, National ID, driving licence & bank account details, financial reports, travel information and other information related to our business relationship with your organisation.
Why Do We Collect Personal Data ? SAKATA EMEA mainly collects and uses personal data from external stakeholders as this is necessary for the performance of our agreement with them. For this purpose, for example we use contact information and bank details such in order to proceed with shipments and payment.
– In addition, we use personal data where this is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by SAKATA EMEA. For example, we make financial reports to assess financial risks and can contain personal data about owners / directors.
What Kind of Personal Data Sharing / Transfer Do We Do At SAKATA ? We exchange contact information with forwarders and logistics suppliers (contact name, address, phone, email), bank details with banks and required personal information such as National ID and driving licences with hotels, transport companies, travel agencies and car leasing companies when needed. We may exchange contact information with other SAKATA subsidiaries when a need is expressed.
We exchange personal data with other SAKATA subsidiaries, when this is needed for the purposes described above. In addition, we engage third party suppliers, including suppliers (such as IT service providers), financial institutions, leasing companies and travel agencies.
How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Data In Our Records ? We retain personal data for as long as required to satisfy the purpose for which they were collected and used (for example, for the time necessary for us to provide you our services during our relationship) unless a longer period is necessary for our legal obligations or to defend a legal claim.
How Can You Access / Modify / Transfer / Object To / Request To Be “Forgotten” ? Subject to the conditions set forth in the applicable law, you have the right to request, review, correct, update, suppress, restrict or delete personal data that you have provided to us or if you would like to request to receive an electronic copy of such personal data for purposes of transmitting it to another company, by contacting the Data Protection Contact (DPCs) set out below, or directly with the Data Protection Officer (DPO). Please note that the DPO should be copied into any request to a DPC. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law.
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in your Member State of residence, if you consider that the collection and use of your Personal Data infringes this Privacy Policy or applicable law.
